Felbrigg Hall is two miles from Cromer - www.nationaltrust.org.uk/felbrigg. There is a very pleasant and not too taxing walk past the church and around the lake, one of four options for walking in the 500 acre park which surrounds the house. There is a tea room as well as a licenced restaurant which uses local produce.
Just outside Hunstanton at Heachham is a working lavender farm with a tea room and restaurant : www.norfolk-lavender.co.uk. Admission is free and the distillery tour, which demonstrates how lavender oil is made, costs £3. There are also coach trips from here to Nelson’s birth place and stories about his life and relevant places along the coast, which takes 90 minutes.
Park at the beach car park and just before the wooden track onto the beach turn right and follow the sandy track to Wells ( It takes about an hour to cycle and about double that to walk.) In Wells the fish and chips on the harbour front are amongst the best in the county.
Alternatively the beach at Holkham is fantastic; expansive and exposed, backed with a pine tree forest and it has choice sunbathing spots in the dunes. The tides need special attention at Wells and Holkham as they come in fast and can trap people who are too far out. Also Holkham Hall with its royal connections is a very interesting option as a place to visit.
